Milestone 4 Report: Polkadot x EasyA Hackathons at Harvard and in London (#60DaysOfPolkadot)
This referendum is the fourth milestone in a detailed, multi-phase initiative that started under Gov1. In our previous referendum, two frequently asked questions were: Where are the hackathon teams now; and Why not go to the events bounty. We have addressed all the questions the community have asked in our full report. However, if you would prefer a more concise version, we summarised them in our previous successful referendum. In summary, our hackathon teams are now thriving and actively contributing to the Polkadot ecosystem! The below are just three of the awesome teams that came out of our awesome Harvard and London Polkadot hackathons.
Current Progress and Comments:
The final milestone of the hackathon events provided by EasyA in a retroactive manner. As described, the community asked about the results of such events since they are on the expensive side considering the venues such as Harvard and Berkeley. Among the three main featured hackathon winners Flybloc (https://www.flybloc.com/) can be considerably hard to determine if whether or not it will have anything to do with the Polkadot ecosystem. DotIAm (https://www.dotiam.com/) seeks to create a blockchain ID, however, we have seen that most identity initiatives have still yet to pan out into something usable. We can only speculate about the use of Polkadot. A concrete use case for Aegis Protocol within Polkadot (https://www.aegisprotocol.io/) is also uncertain. As DotIAm and Aegis seem to have been supported by both Polkadot and Algorand. Consequently, it seems like the impact is still to be determined at best, and limited given the concrete examples of the hackathon winners.
