sub0 Asia 2024 - pre-funding request
Sub0 will again provide an open introduction to next-generation multichain networks, as well as a chance for existing Polkadot and Substrate developers to deepen their skills and connect with each other. For this year's edition we want 50% of our audience to be new developers from outside of our ecosystem. This includes people who are not building on Substrate but are curious to learn more. By opening our doors to developers who are not (or only slightly) familiar with our tech, we can bring in more potential builders and expand our market reach and visibility. It will be the first sub0 with paid tickets to help subsidize the impact to the Polkadot Treasury. Ticket revenue will contribute to 8-10% of the required budget.
Current Progress and Comments:
Sub0 became the premier event for developers in the Polkadot ecosystem. With two successful editions already, the proposal for the pre-funding which will cover approximately 85% of the budget, was approved almost unanimously. The only comment questioning the funding for this event came from Ivy Networks and requested to know whether or not was feasible to use the events bounty for this event. The answer was that the events bounty has a max cap of 150k USD, therefore making it insufficient for it to cover the full cost of the sub0 event.
