Bounty Proposal for Public RPCs for Relay and System Chains
This proposal outlines a procurement strategy for public RPC services in Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems, aiming for high-quality, decentralized, and cost-effective services. It addresses the vital need for reliable RPCs, emphasizing their role in applications like Polkadot.JS and wallets. Tenders from RPC providers can follow two models: cost targets or predefined service levels. The proposed budget is $400,000, split between Polkadot and Kusama treasuries.
Current Progress and Comments:
RPCs came together as a single proposal seeking to fund the RPC operations which are crucial to the regular user interactions on Polkadot and Kusama. This proposal, comes with an important change which is the inclusion of the bounty modality as opposed as the single entity referendum seeking retroactive funds. In addition, with Parity departing from the RPC service, it’s up to the treasury to fund these operations from now onwards.
