As an annual blockchain event taking place in Singapore and London, Token 2049 holds a prominent position. This highly regarded gathering brings together top executives, founders and thought leaders in the Web3 space. The purpose of this proposal is to fund Polkadot's involvement as a Title sponsor in the Token2049 Singapore conference happening from September 13th to 14th, 2023. This includes a pavilion-style booth, branding on conference materials, and Keynote speaker on the main stage.A total of 20 ecosystem teams have already confirmed their participation at the Polkadot Pavilion Booth during Token 2049 this year: **Ajuna Network, KILT Protocol, Stellaswap, InvArch Network, Moonbeam, Gear, Bit.Country, Talisman, Polkadex, Cumulus Encrypted Storage System (CESS ), Zeitgeist, Unique Network, Bifrost, SubWallet, SubQuery, Phala Network, Watr, Astar, Polimec, OriginTrail.**By strategically sponsoring Token 2049, Polkadot demonstrates a resolute commitment to advancing the blockchain industry and fostering trust among stakeholders. This sponsorship will pave the way for increased brand awareness, foster valuable partnerships, and drive fruitful collaborations. Ultimately, this will position Polkadot as a leading player in the dynamic and evolving Web3 landscape.

Current Progress and Comments:

The Polkadot presence at Token 2049 was an important one due to the growing interest and development in the SEA region (Bitskewla, Mandala Chain, among others.) Previous proposals raised several issues with regards to transparency but in this proposal, the community was more lenient with the reporting requirements in addition with more actual reporting from the Web3 foundation. The main criticism came from Ivy Networks, who pointed out that funding for these events should be requested in anticipation as opposed as a retroactive payment, due to the fact that the community could approve the details of the proposal that the Web3 foundation is about to spend.
