The slow creep of change into a desired direction is the main tool that’s going to be explored in this article. Other images such as the frog boiling slowly are commonly used. But the Fabians’ existence and pretext lay a real plan and action which many advocates of social change are using at this time, whether or not they actually belong to a third generation of Fabians.
Usually, the architects of change device and start pushing socially the change they want to achieve dressed in cool clothes and flashy branding. Initially, the Metas, Googles and Microsofts of the world created brand presence and marketing towards data collection. They created high paying jobs, ghost ad revenue where the advised solution is to spend more on bids and to create a flashy security theater that monetized your sensitive data for advertisement and security purposes. Consequently, this data is now for sale on the dark web along with many other sensitive datasets. Still, sensitive data is not given freely as much as these companies would want so they start pushing for legislation and lobbying that will help advance their interests and investments 1 , 2, 3.
This is where currently we are. Policymakers started pushing for new tyrannical rules geared towards data collection thanks to the confirmed lobby done by Facebook & Whatsapp parent company: Meta. Is also selling this data as a business to government deal to the FBI according to the recent Patel testimony (news also published by Politico).
But What about other jurisdictions pushing the same changes?
The architects of change planned these events in advance in order to advocate for change by pushing these legislation changes as well as pushing for normalization of data collection across the globe. That’s why you get to see the same legislation in seemingly disconnected places like Brazil, Utah, NY, California and Illinois. These coordination happens through brick and mortar channels such as they WEF private meetings, social groups, religious groups, lodges, clubs, etc. Most low and middle management mostly tends to agree based on a surface level understanding so that denial of coordination is plausible.
Why though?
The future is uncertain and it’s in the hands of the people. Whatever change that these policies aim to create is cement political power of the parties currently in power as it was explored in part 1, as well as other more sinister change like the diffusing of dissidents. Remember that all these meatspace and cyberspace surveillance hasn’t brought more security. As a matter of fact, it has decreased in most metrics available. We are already experiencing the throttling of anti-war voices and anti-war sentiment which mostly is present on social media. Social Media as a political opposing force was also mentioned in part 1.
Compute now is important.
The reason why Operating Systems, Cryptocurrency 1 2, VPNs, hardware are being targeted heavily, is because they tip the balance to whoever is willing and technically apt to wield the tools. Now, governments are not the only ones able to create deep fakes, AI videos and fake news but pretty much anyone else can. AI tools can and already have been used in the fields of fakes detection, law, entertainment and propaganda. VPNs, TOR, I2P and similar technologies are becoming gradually more important as privacy is posed to become a hot commodity due to the changes that in place. Cryptocurrency and tokenization open the gates to more open investment and payment rails without the incumbents with heavy fees. Finally, Operating Systems are at the base of all compute available, conquering them is something that has already being put in place on Android/Google and Apple technology. Conquering compute will remove hardware from the consumers in favor of cloud.
The next battle in the crypto wars is against the cloud and the right to own hardware. So you should better be prepared for the battle, even if it comes down decades. Even if the modern day Fabians retreat and come with a better and more palatable plan.
